4 Tips When Building A Fence
- Quality Construction
From the ground up do not cut any corners. Ensure you have a proper sized footing, straight runs of fence and gates that do not sag! - Materials
Take time to check that your boards are straight and not cracked. Sort through the cedar fence boards and you can find some with deep beautiful pink and brown hues. - Climate
In our wet climate it is important that the footings be well above grade and that the concrete slopes away from the post base. It is also good practice to treat the cut ends of any pressure treated lumber. - After Construction Care Considerations
Keep soil away from the bases of your posts and fence boards. Soil against your fence will lead to premature rotting.
